About Jen

I GET IT.

No matter how productive your day is, at the end of it, there is always more to do.You have a Facebook page, you post pretty regularly and occasionally you even run an ad.You have a Twitter account, but you aren't quite sure what you are supposed to do with it.

You sit down in front of the computer, after dinner, determined to figure out how Pinterest can help your business. Four hours later, and you forgot what you were supposed to be doing, but you've got a killer recipe for sangria.

As far as you can tell, you haven't made one single penny for your business from the time you've invested in social media. And you don't have a lot of extra time to spare.  Just figuring out how to upload a video to YouTube takes you two hours, and although you feel accomplished when you succeed, your day is shot.

The first thing I tell each of my students is "you are NOT behind". THESE ARE EARLY DAYS.  Although I know it feels like others are zooming past you, that's just an illusion. The truth is, only a small minority of people know how to you use social media to drive traffic, grow a robust email list, and convert those email subscribers into customers. Yes, their website might be prettier, and they might have lots of likes on their social channels, but none of that matters if those likes and followers don't convert into sales.

And even fewer people are using social media to develop a relationship with their audience BEYOND THE SALE. I don't know about you, but I am not interested in "snagging" a customer. I am interested in building a tribe of people who trust me and rave about the value I give to them. Because when that happens,  everything gets a lot easier, and let's face it, a lot more fun.

A Little About Me

I've always had a hard time answering the question "where are you from?" because I'm not really "from" anywhere. I was born in Statesville, North Carolina, but we left when I was 6 years old, and never stayed in any one state or country for longer than a year or two until my middle school/ high school years (South Carolina), so that's usually the place I refer to as home. I never minded all of that moving around, because I have always loved change. Each move felt like a new adventure, and I jumped right in.

I always thought my adult life would be different. That I'd plant some roots, and stay put. But I married a guy whose career has taken us on one great adventure after the next, landing us in Charleston, Seattle, Toronto, Myrtle Beach, Mississippi, and Cleveland all before our oldest son was 9 years old.

During each of those transitions, I used technology to make the most of everything: from the actual move, to finding community resources, and even arranging playdates for my kids.  I volunteered a lot, and always found myself in the role of communications person, building websites, coordinating email campaigns, designing and branding social media marketing strategies. Technology allowed me to put down an anchor no matter where I was.

When my youngest child started kindergarten, I decided to use these digital skills and combine them with  my marketing skills from my years in non-profits and fundraising, and start The Posner Lehner Group, LLC., a marketing agency .  This has allowed me to work with amazing clients, large and small, as a partner and trusted advisor in helping them to solve their marketing challenges. Word spread very quickly, and I was soon at capacity. Turning people away is not something I enjoyed, and it was completely frustrating to me that this had to be the case.

This is when I decided to launch Jen Lehner Media, LLC. Now I am able to help more clients by offering online courses, group training courses online, and one on one coaching sessions. I love to teach and enjoy my role as adjunct professor of digital marketing and Entrepreneur in Residence at Notre Dame College.  I love being able to break things down for people in a way that is SIMPLE to understand.  My goal is to help you achieve your goal as quickly and as simply as possible.  I'm not a big fan of fluff and hype.

Other Tidbits

I am obsessed with all things Bollywood. And I don't need subtitles or translations, because even though I don't understand what's being said, I love the music and the dancing and the drama.

As I child, I lived in North Carolina, Georgia, the Philippines, Texas, Boston, South Carolina, and Africa. Before 6th grade.

Very good rollerblader.

Voted "Class Clown" in high school.

Met my husband online in 1998 (I walk the talk, people!)

I am mom to 2 boys and a girl. There's no app for that. No analytics, either. I just do the best I can each day and hope they all grow up to be happy, kind, people.

Nuts over my new Peloton bike.

Completely "Whole30" for a year and half and still going strong.

Favorite quote and my mantra:

““How can you squander even one more day not taking advantage of the greatest shifts of our generation? How dare you settle for less when the world has made it so easy for you to be remarkable?” - Seth Godin
